What is 'The Calling Compass'?
'The Calling Compass' is my little corner of the internet where I dish out book reviews with a side of wit, sharing my two cents on how my beliefs either tango or tangle with those in each book. I also spill the beans on how these literary adventures have reshaped my worldview and fueled my growth in the professional, spiritual, and personal arenas. Hopefully, this will tickle your curiosity enough to dive into these books yourself!

Vision
My vision is to inspire and energise individuals to chase their dreams with enthusiasm and zeal, steering clear of the monotony and stagnation that often come with mediocrity. I strive to motivate people to pursue their goals with strength and resolve, assisting them in overcoming challenges and reaching their full potential, while also discovering it for myself.
Mission
My mission is to encourage people to rediscover those forgotten paperbacks and use them as a navigator to explore the adventurous realm of goal-setting, while creating a personal growth story that could rival a bestseller.
Who am I?
Welcome to The Calling Compass!
I'm Kevin, your average corporate guy on a mission to upgrade my life like it's a software update.
I've always been the curious type, eager to explore new things and leave a mark on the world. This curiosity has taken me on a wild career ride—from film production to non-profit work, dabbling in tech, and most recently, spending 2024 shepherding youth and young adults like a modern-day Moses (but a lot more flawed).
As I embark on this epic quest of self-discovery as a person, husband, dad, friend, son, and brother, I've realised the importance of reading more and sharing my tales from each chapter of life.
Through this, I aim to inspire and encourage those who read my blogs to escape the hamster wheel of daily routines and chase something greater, beyond just financial gains, by discovering their purpose and understanding the "why" behind their actions, and hopefully encouraging you to read some books along with me.
Why am I so passionate about this? Because a wise mentor once told me, "Complacency is the devil," and it's been echoing in my head like a catchy pop song for the past four years.
I invite you to join me on this adventure, and flee the life of complacency.
Embark with me on this journey of growth.
